Hulder is the Black Metal solo project created in 2018 by Belgian vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Marz Riesterer. After releasing some demos, an EP and a compilation between 2018 and 2020, Hulder releases in 2021 his first full album, titled “Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry”. Hulder’s sound is deeply rooted in the Black Metal of the 90s, but has a personality of its own, masterfully alternating aggressive and fast moments with more cadenced and majestic passages, in which acoustic and synthesizer elements are perfectly incorporated into the songs. “Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry” is a spectacular album and shows why Hulder is one of the most promising projects in Black Metal today. All instruments, with the exception of the drums, were recorded by Marz Riesterer. The drums for “Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry” were recorded by Sam Osborne, credited on the disc as Necreon, an American musician who is currently a member of Funebrarum and who has also played in bands such as Demoncy and Undergang. “Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry” was mixed by Charles Koryn (Decrepisy, Funebrarum, Skeletal Remains) and art by the legendary Mark Riddick. |
